Acre is recruiting a newly created Responsible Investment Manager / ESG Lead for a global asset manager client, based in the Hong Kong office. Clients span institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds through to retail investors.

As part of a global team, this new hire will enjoy close working with the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and investment teams in north America and Europe.

With an initial focus on active and passive public equity strategies, this remit will gain momentum to further integrate ESG across investment processes all asset classes in the Asia region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advancing and implementing the responsible investment and corporate governance strategy in Asia
  • External stakeholder relationship building and advocacy to contribute to the progression of industry wide performance enhancement, such as with stock exchanges and regulators on a local and global level
  • Large cap and small cap company engagement on material environment, social and corporate governance issues
  • Writing white papers and thought leadership pieces
  • Working as a valued and integral part of all factets of the investment team and attending client meetings

Experience sought for this position is knowledge of corporate governance, environmental and social issues in the Asia region. Highly advantageous is investment knowledge or experience.

Exemplary communication and influencing skills at board and executive level is sought. Strong research, analytical and writing skills are essential. Fluency in an Asian language and English is highly beneficial.
