Acre are very pleased to once again partner with Plastic Oceans to source an experienced Business Operations Manager to support the CEO, Board and wider team with the planning, implementation, reporting and continuous improvement of the organisation. This is a very exciting time to join Plastic Oceans, a non-profit organisation who first defined their mission to, 'End plastic entering the ocean within a generation' in 2009. Since then they have been at the forefront of raising awareness of plastic pollution - including production of the award-winning feature length film A Plastic Ocean. Their mission has moved on to inspire action, changing behaviours and ensuring the next generation is more sustainable than the last. This role will report to the CEO with responsibilities to include:
  • Managing effective fiduciary oversight - owning and developing financial management systems and reporting
  • Supporting effective governance - co-ordinating Board activity and ensuring appropriate corporate filing
  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the London office and day to day operations
  • Creating clear and effective planning and operational reporting processes and procedures
  • Ensure work is delivered in keeping with Plastic Oceans' vision and values
This is a wonderful opportunity to join a growing organisation and have a real impact in tackling one of the biggest challenges of our time. What else do you bring? We are looking for someone who is capable at the back office, but ideally brings something extra:
  • A passion for sustainability or the ocean
  • Success working with non-profit teams in start-up / rapid growth mode
  • Monitoring, evaluation and organisational learning expertise
  • Advanced knowledge of business effectiveness systems -, Salesforce, etc.
  • Strong communication and collaboration ability
  • International experience or having worked with diverse cultures is desirable
