Acre is working in exclusive partnership with a large public sector organisations in South Wales to source a new Carbon Reduction Project Manager.

This role has been created to develop and co-ordinate the implementation of energy efficiency projects in line with the Carbon Management Plan.

We are looking for an engaging, passionate and highly organised project manager to oversee the delivery and implementation of a major carbon reduction programme to help transition toward a low carbon economy.

Job Requirements:

  • Leading on the delivery of Carbon Reduction and Energy Generation across South Wales
  • Developing the future strategic programme for all building energy efficiency works, and hold responsibility for delivery
  • Supporting the Carbon Reduction Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Council's Carbon Management Policy
  • Holding responsibility for strategic decisions affecting the delivery of building energy efficiency / energy generation projects
  • Building and maintaining relationships with a range of employees, developers, contractors, external agencies and the general public identifying solutions to ensure project progression and delivery

Working closely with the Carbon Reduction Manager, this role will play an instrumental part in successfully transitioning the organization to a low carbon economy. With a highly ambitious target of reaching carbon neutrality by 2030, there is clear and considerable commitment towards this programme.

Skills Required:

  • Educated to Degree Level in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subject
  • Strong working knowledge of energy management and the tools and methods applied in the successful reduction of cost and carbon
  • Experience of Managing major projects from concept through to completion
  • Encourage and recognise ideas, initiatives and improvements to deliver better services whilst also supporting others to think differently, to question and to try new ways of doing things
  • Be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with colleagues, outside agencies, contractors and customers
  • Experience of undertaking building surveys for the purposes of identifying levels of energy efficiency and potential reduction measures (ESOS audits, DECs, EPCs etc.) is desirable
