IPIECA develops, shares and promotes good practice and knowledge to help the oil and gas industry improve its environmental and social performance. They do this with the understanding that the issues that dominate the sustainable development agenda - climate and energy, environmental and social issues - are too big for individual companies to tackle alone. The industry must work together to achieve improvements that have real impact. IPIECA helps to achieve this goal.

Acre are delighted to be supporting IPIECA in their search for a Communications Manager. Reporting to the Programme and Communications Director, you will lead the development and execution of projects enabling IPIECA to deliver joined-up, proactive communications on issues that matter to key members and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing communication strategies to raise awareness and understanding of key IPIECA activities both internally within the membership and externally to key stakeholders
  • Working closely with all IPIECA groups to develop effective communications and channel management, including message frameworks, stakeholder mapping and engagement strategies
  • Working with project managers to understand their objectives, develop communications plans and provide relevant strategic guidance
  • Providing support to website development, and preparing copy and content
  • Planning and attending industry events to build relationships with key contacts

In this role you will work closely with senior leaders from the oil and gas industry, supporting the development and promotion of sound practices and solutions across the environmental and social performance.

Your Experience:

  • Strong communications experience, including developing and delivering communication plans internally and externally
  • Writing and editing content for different audiences, including technical publications, social media and senior stakeholders
  • An eye for detail - both to ensure that work is of a high quality and that projects are planned and delivered on time
  • An appetite to champion new thinking and new creative routes within communications
  • A strong team player who is self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Experience working in a global environment, with global awareness and cultural perspective

This is an excellent opportunity for a communications specialist to play a pivotal role in tackling one of the world's most pressing issues. If you see yourself as part of a nimble and highly respected organisation at the forefront of environmental and social issues across a major sector, then please apply for the role below.
