We are excited to be partnering with a safety focussed tech organization who are now seeking an experienced, hands-on and driven Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineer to enhance and promote the safety of the workplace and operations. The chosen candidate will develop and implement programs to improve safety, reduce risk and ensure compliance with internal standards as well as governmental regulations. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn all on-site processes to quickly support the development of world-class health and safety programs.
Job responsibilities for this important position include:
Implement and support EHS programs including Contractor Safety, LOTO, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Response, Incident Investigation and Waste Water Treatment
Perform chemical and equipment hazard assessments and recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemical and physical work hazards
Direct teams in the identification and mitigation of hazards from design through operation of new and existing processes
Develop, review and update EHS policies, procedures and strategies to prevent workplace injuries and environmental incidents
Conduct internal safety audits/inspection, accident and near miss investigations, suggests corrective actions, monitor and track completion of corrective action items with site personnel
Develop, conduct and track best practice EHS training
Specific candidate requirements include:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety and Occupational Health or a relevant technical discipline
Previous and demonstrable years of work experience in an industrial setting
High volume manufacturing experience in semiconductor, PV, chemical industry, batteries, tech equipment or similar
Experience with industrial workplace hazards and corresponding programs, such as LOTO, confined space, electrical safety, machine guarding, powder handling, spill control, waste water, hazardous, toxic and flammable gas/liquids
Experience in PHA facilitation including "what if" and HAZOPs
Knowledge of NFPA, California Fire Code, and CGA regulations
