This is an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Sustainability Data Specialist to join a FTSE500 business. This is a brand-new role within the team which offers a lot of scope for growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for environmental data completeness and quality to meet the company's external environmental reporting commitments. You will have strong knowledge of environmental impacts and have strong data skills.

The first 3 months of this role will involve collating data for the Carbon Disclosure Project, ensuring that all manufacturing sites have completed this for annual reporting. Our client reports its environmental data annually to shareholders through its integrated annual report which is published in June.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Group EHS Director, you will lead environmental data analysis for their global sites, ensuring data completeness and quality according to invoices and emissions calculations.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day communication with the site-based EHS managers providing necessary support to ensure they complete their monthly environmental data returns into Enablon system on schedule.
  • You will perform independent internal checks on the data submitted by sites to look for mistakes or significant changes in monthly performance and will liaise with sites to build up an understanding of performance trends, before any data is passed to the external auditor.
  • Act as our point of contact with 3rd party assurance auditors for day to day business - scheduling meetings and ensuring the auditors receive from sites all data they request in a timely manner. Facilitating communication and resolution of any data accuracy issues between sites and external auditors.
  • Managing day to day progress of the reporting process, making sure that the all stakeholders are aware of deadlines and responsibilities according to the Annual Reporting schedule.
  • You will be environmentally focused with excellent knowledge of Carbon Energy & Waste.

Experience

  • The successful candidate must have a strong understanding and experience of corporate environmental data reporting frameworks and carbon footprint reporting - essential.
  • Highly numerate with advanced analytical skills and a strong attention to detail essential
  • Experience of working with data and corporate data systems
  • Experience with Enablon reporting software would be an advantage Excellent MS Excel Skill, however training will be provided.
