This pivotal role will lead on the development and implementation of strategies and programmes which respond to key environmental trends and commercial drivers which effect BT. Reporting to the Head of Environmental Sustainability, this provides a fantastic opportunity to act as the spokesperson both internally and externally on environmental affairs at BT.
Identify and deliver on key environmental issues which BT should focus on to reduce its environmental impact i.e. plastics and circular economy
Work across the business to influence key stakeholders developing compelling rationale for why BT should focus on these areas
Manage virtual teams implementing programmes that tackle urgent issues, such as BT's plastics campaign
Develop and launch new projects, such as a renewable electricity offer for BT customers
Represent BT externally at events, conferences, investor presentations and with NGO's, government and commercial partners
Act as the key spokesperson internally working across the business at group level on environmental sustainability
Work with the CFUs and the Carbon Trust to identify new products, quantify them and assure BT's 3:1 net good model
The successful candidate needs to have extensive experience influencing change at executive level and be effective at building relationships as well as engaging and influencing stakeholders on challenging topics.
Bachelors or master's degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
In-depth knowledge of key environmental challenges facing the sector and an excellent, relevant network
Strong influencing skills with the ability to develop strategic partnerships
Excellent analytical and communication skills with experience of speaking and presenting at external engagements. Experience planning and working with relevant events would be advantageous.
Sound commercial acumen with the ability to run and implement complex programmes involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
