Acre is pleased to be partnering with the International Marine Contractors Association; the leading trade association for offshore, marine and underwater engineering companies. IMCA drives and influences its members, which include Subsea 7, Technip FMC and Maersk, around key technical, contractual, policy and regulatory matters. These include the need to reduce emissions and remove plastics and waste from complex and challenging locations, from which has arisen a compelling opportunity for an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join the organisation.

In this newly created role, you will work closely with the CEO and Technical Director, leading on IMCA's environmental sustainability strategy and programme of engagement with its members and their clients on a global level.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating and developing programmes and reference materials, which support their member's ambitions around environmental and sustainability best practice
  • Providing advice across a range of sustainability challenges and consulting with members throughout the offshore and marine value chain on new environmental sustainability initiatives e.g. alternative fuels, emission reduction technologies and the elimination of single use plastics
  • Attending meetings with the IMCA committees and members and commissioning research as necessary
  • Working with key stakeholders to ensure that environmental sustainability is well-positioned in the reform of the industries that IMCA operates across

This key hire will influence the membership and drive robust environmental sustainability best practice for IMCA. You will be a self-starter and extremely engaging with a proven ability to solicit ideas and initiatives from committees, working groups and other stakeholder platforms.

You will demonstrate:

  • A background in environmental sustainability, ideally obtained through professional experience within the offshore oil, gas, renewable energy, telecommunications or dredging sectors
  • A natural ability to influence decision making and strategic direction at all levels with members and other third-party stakeholders paired with great communication and engagement skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously coupled with a track record in driving change through impactful programme management

This exciting and unique role presents an opportunity for a highly experienced sustainability practitioner to broaden their network and impact across a diverse range of corporate and government stakeholders on programmes which directly impact the ecosystem and health of our oceans.
