Acre has been retained to recruit an ESG Investor Engagement Manager for an innovative investor initiative that supports pension funds and asset managers to understand environment, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities that affect the financial return of their investments. This initiative for change also encourages the positive impact and action that investors can take to work with the companies they invest in to address ESG issues to improve company performance and global industry standards. ESG topics covered include as human health, climate change and sustainable supply chains. This will drive responsible investment (RI) and encourage the evolution of future fit commerce more broadly. Target investor members are public and corporate pension plans, insurers, asset managers, endowments and foundations. The ambition is to sign-up investor members to the network that represent in excess of $10 trillion of assets under management by second quarter 2019. Remit:
  • To promote the organisation's profile and sign-up new investor members by pro-actively reaching out to them, engaging in conversation and having face to face meetings
  • Deliver pitch presentations to potential new members
  • Travel across Europe and internationally to help achieve the outreach and new member engagement
  • Contribute to the strategy and KPIs to achieve the member sign-on target
  • Attending events and speaking at conferences to help to help raise the organisation's profile and showcase relevant recent research, initiatives and investor briefings
  • Contributing to new ESG research ideas and, if desired, writing ESG thought leadership
  • Create progress reports for delivery to the board
  • Working collaboratively as part of a small team to broaden and deepen the understanding of how the key ESG issues are evolving within the corporate and investor landscape
  • Role requires business fluency in French
  • Strong relationship management, influencing and communication skills
  • The ability to speak with integrity on some sustainability and/or ESG topics, with the desire to learn and broaden knowledge and understanding
  • Knowledge and a basic understanding of how capital markets work and the general challenges of ESG / responsible investment, in order to speak with credibly to RI/ESG professionals in the industry
  • Proactive, organised and pragmatic approach to setting and managing own work agenda in a small and dynamic organisation
