Acre's sustainable investing team are currently working with one of the world's most progressive investment groups building out a new team. This team that will deliver sustainability driven analysis to optimise their long-term investment strategy and launch new products.
This research will highlight issues, challenges, solutions and opportunities across five megatrends: Demography, Natural Resources, Data Revolution, Climate Change and Inequality. The focus of this team will be to produce an analysis of major megatrends and their impact on financial risk and return
Lead on geospatial (GIS) mapping, statistical analysis and data collection, focusing on geospatial data relating to climate change, migration, armed conflict, urbanisation, and financial performance
Undertake quantitative and qualitative research aimed at detailing major megatrends surrounding climate change, the energy transition, socio-economic change, consumer preference, and resource scarcity.
Identify, research, develop, create, process and/or curate datasets and knowledge-bases to support the analysis of major megatrends
Explore the applicability and support the integration of alternative data (geolocations, satellite image, transactions, social media etc.) as part of the unit's analysis
Engage with sector analysts, portfolio managers, and other team members to identify sustainability issues of material financial importance to selected industries and companies
Articulate, demonstrate and present the implications of the unit's research on global megatrends, both internally and externally, focusing on the ability of the unit's analysis to inform financial decisions
Support the development of analytical frameworks and financial models to assess the financial impact of major megatrends
Demonstrable experience of undertaking geospatial (GIS) mapping, statistical analysis and data collection
Advanced programming skills (Python, Matlab or C++).
PhD or master's degree in STEM subject.
Ability to build analytical models.
Ability to conduct independent research using large data sets.
