Acre is delighted to be partnering with the leading international sustainability non-profit, Forum for the Future; in their search for a Global Director of Systems Change Programmes. The role can be based remotely, with a preference for either London, Singapore or New York.

Forum, for over 20 years, has partnered with business, governments and civil society to accelerate the shift towards a sustainable future and to tackle some of the world's most complex environmental and societal challenges.

With offices in London, New York, Singapore and Mumbai Forum has been at the forefront of creating an international community of pioneers and changemakers including partners and funders such as M&S, Unilever, the C&A Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation.

The Director of Systems Change Programmes, a newly created role for the organisation, will be a critical member of the senior management team leading the development and implementation of significant global programmes to catalyse change on key global challenges (Challenge Labs).

Reporting into the Chief Executive, you will drive strategy and change processes at the heart of the Forum's work, playing a pivotal role in realising the organisation's impact at an exciting time of their evolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing global strategies to ensure Forum's programmes are at the leading edge of systems change practice, working closely with Programme Leads and Regional Directors
  • Driving thought leadership to ensure programmes deliver impact and that learnings and stories of change are captured and shared
  • Building the high-level multi-sector partnerships and relationships with global organisations that will be critical to delivering change
  • Representing Forum and its work at relevant national and international conferences, seminars and other events, raising the organisation's profile
  • Supporting the development of integrated income generation strategies with Forum's fundraising team enabling key programmes to thrive
As a natural leader, you will utilise and grow your global network of connections across large corporates, foundations, civil society and governments, inspiring and equipping to deliver systemic change for a sustainable future.

To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Ability to think strategically at a business-wide and international scale
  • Significant experience in developing programmes in relation to sustainable development either in a corporate, consultancy or similar non-profit
  • A deep understanding of sustainable development, evidenced by impact in at least one of the key Challenge Lab areas
  • Capability in developing programmes which feature mechanisms for market transformation and business model innovation is desirable, as is an understanding of sustainable finance instruments
  • A strong track record in managing projects effectively to delivery outcomes, on time and on budget
  • Excellent external communication skills: speaking, writing and engagement via social media
