Acre is very excited to be working with Nike, the globally recognised brand making a commitment to change, to hire a Global Manager for Sustainable Chemicals Management, to be based at the Nike HQ Campus in Oregon.

Global Manager - Sustainable Chemicals Management

To protect Nike's workers, the environment and their consumers, the Nike Code of Conduct expects their suppliers to demonstrate that 'Chemicals are Properly Managed'. Achieving this requires implementation of an effective chemicals management program at the facility level, replicated across the entire source-base.

In this new, globally impactful role, you will strengthen Nike's chemical management program by creating and deploying a strategic initiative that will elevate global supply chain performance. Your efforts will positively impact a global industry and strengthen Nike's manufacturing base.

Within this role, you will have the opportunity and support to:

  • Build upon Nike's current requirements by developing and deploying a "beyond compliance" strategy that elevates chemicals management capability
  • Oversee supplier performance against applicable Code Leadership Standards and the Higg FEM 3.0 Chemical Management Module, working collaboratively to resolve chemicals management issues
  • Shape and deploy Nike's risk reduction strategy within finished goods and raw material manufacturing by working alongside key internal teams and leveraging industry collaboration where needed
  • Manage a dynamic chemicals management training program across finished goods factories and raw material vendors
  • Act as Nike point of contact for industry engagement, vis-à-vis chemicals management activities and efforts, leveraging and shaping industry approaches where necessary
  • By working alongside the Nike Chemistry Center of Excellence, develop a process to strengthen the effective deployment and scale of chemical innovations
As an experienced industry professional with a robust understanding of chemicals management, advancing and managing a complex global program will require specific key skills including:
  • Previously creating robust chemical management programs within a complex supply chain
  • Familiarity with raw materials production and manufacturing
  • Global, regional or multi-country chemical supply chain expertise
  • An ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization
  • Able to engage across the industry, collaborating effectively with industry peers and competitors
Additional qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
  • Strong work experience in a chemicals management position or similar role
  • Strong technical background
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and changing demands
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time, including possible overseas travel
  • Entrepreneurial
