Acre is delighted to have been engaged exclusively by Finlays, in their search for Global Sustainability Manager, to lead on managing and implementing the strategy for sustainable supply and other assigned strategic objectives in their Sustainable Futures strategy.
Finlays, part of the global conglomerate Swire Group, has a rich 200-year history in producing, packing and supplying tea, coffee and botanicals to its global customer base. With 'sustainable' being one of the organisation's core values, Finlays has strived to continuously improve and influence social and environmental standards across the whole tea, coffee and botanicals supply chain.
Reporting to the Group Head of Sustainability; the Global Sustainability Manager will ensure the FSFS strategy is implemented across both their own operations and that best practice extends to 3rd party suppliers, delivering social and environmental value to communities within and beyond Finlay's operations.
Developing and delivering integrated landscapes, land stewardship and low impact operations strategy
Managing and implementing sustainable supply strategy, delivering traceability and transparency
Engaging with suppliers regarding audits, corrective actions and remediation, driving ethical standards throughout the supply chain
Delivering sustainability related reports and communications relating to sustainable supply, meeting external reporting requirements
Supporting the Group Head of Sustainability in developing systems and processes to support traceability, reporting, and social compliance initiatives
The successful candidate will have experience on the ground with a strong background in ethical and sustainable sourcing preferably within the food and beverage sector.
Experience in driving low impact operations, with a focus on environmental compliance
Demonstrable experience of needs assessment, auditing and remediation approaches
Excellent knowledge of international labour laws and processes for resolution of non-compliances
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to forge strong, long-term relationships with suppliers
Highly organised with a self starter attitude
Ability to work in diverse cultures with an understanding of the different nuances in international business environments
Willingness to travel internationally to Sri-Lanka, Kenya, China and the USA as key destinations
