A leading premium house builder has engaged Acre to search for a Group Governance and Sustainability Manager to cover a period of maternity leave. Reporting directly into the Company Secretary, the successful candidate will take the lead in driving forward the Group's sustainability strategy.

You will have credibility within the industry and be able to influence stakeholders at a senior level, you will also be able to nurture and develop a talented Assistant Sustainability Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive effective communication around ESG risks and opportunities, consulting and prioritising with stakeholders at executive and board level
  • Take a leading role in the development and delivery of the Annual Integrated Report
  • Develop initiatives across a range of sustainability issues including sustainable procurement and biodiversity
  • Manage sustainability-related reporting, including investor disclosures, managing the business's Modern Slavery Statement and submissions to industry benchmarks such as CDP, FTSE4Good and MSCI
  • Engage with trade bodies and other organisations with a vision to scope future direction

You will be a natural influencer, able to affect action beyond compliance throughout the Group.

The Ideal Profile:

  • A strategic thinker with experience in developing and implementing a sustainability strategy
  • Strong engagement skills, with a demonstrable track record of developing sustainability communications
  • An experienced project manager, able to simultaneously run multiple initiatives and meet challenging targets and deadlines
  • Relevant degree or equivalent in a related discipline
  • The ability to travel regularly
