An innovative global asset manager with a focus on sustainable investment has retained Acre to appoint a Head of Policy and Advocacy to join the London office. Our client invests in listed equities, fixed income and private markets, with assets under management significantly growing over the last decade.

This is a newly created position in the investment team that will play a leading role in further developing the firm's understanding of policy issues related to investing in the sustainable economy.

Working closely with fund managers and investment analysts, the Head of Policy and Advocacy will contribute insights on policy matters that will support fund strategy, investment decisions and research, plus company engagement.

Through advocacy, the remit will advance the firm's influence over the development of policy issues with policy makers and collaboratively via industry groups; whereby directly contributing to the sustainable development of the economy and the stability of financial markets.

External stakeholder engagement responsibilities that support raising the firm's profile is also part of the remit, such as attending client meetings, speaking at conferences and writing white papers for example.

Experience and competencies sought:

  • Public policy analysis in areas related to sustainable development; for example, any topic ranging from energy, climate change, transition risk, waste or water through to social and health
  • The ability to apply experience at the interface of sustainable investment and policy; demonstrating a commercial approach in order to achieve results in an investment management business
  • A track record of successfully influencing policy makers at international, EU or UK level
  • The ability to influence and build relationships with credibility and flair

Advantageous is experience, or educational qualifications, in economics, sustainable investment or climate finance. We welcome applications from a variety of backgrounds, from individuals able to apply their experience in this leadership position.
