Shaftesbury are a property business at the heart of London's vibrant West End. Their central locations host a renowned concentration of world-class attractions, shopping and leisure choices, which attract huge numbers of domestic and overseas visitors. Acre is delighted to partner with Shaftesbury in their search for a founding Head of Sustainability, playing a key role in the business's current operations and future ambitions.

You will be responsible for:

  • Representing the business externally and raising Shaftesbury's sustainability profile through relevant industry fora and stakeholder engagement
  • Sustainability reporting and disclosure, managing key external relationships with tenants and external consultants
  • Horizon scanning for new policy and trends, driving and championing thought leadership on sustainability with key internal stakeholders
  • Engagement with Shaftesbury's supply chain, ensuring responsible procurement practices
  • Working in partnership with portfolio managers on building performance and tenant engagement, in key areas such as utility consumption and waste management
In this role you will shape Shaftesbury's environmental vision and create an ambitious sustainability strategy which underpins their future portfolio growth plans.

You will have:

  • A demonstrable track record in delivering effective sustainability strategy within a corporate and commercial environment
  • The analytical skills to develop and monitor the roadmap and KPIs to ensure goals are achieved
  • The ability to build relationships and engage with a variety of teams and stakeholders
  • A passion for the West End, with genuine ambition to evolve sustainability strategy within some of London's best-known villages
