Acre is looking to speak to engaging and forward-thinking Health and Safety professionals for a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) advisor role with a Construction Logistic client with rapid growth plans.

You will get exposure to all business unit's in a national role, which will allow you to gain an excellent understanding of how the business operates, where culture needs to be improved and what coaching, mentoring and engagement needs to be proactively undertaken.

Ideally the successful candidate will be based within South Yorkshire/Midlands, however exceptional candidates could be based around Cambridgeshire or Cheshire.

Key deliverables and accountabilities:

  • Challenge bureaucratic, non-value value adding processes and motivate teams to focus towards their ethical responsibility
  • Produce fatal and severe Risk Assessments at frequencies as established by the facility / product area / business, providing risk assurance
  • Facilitate positive investigations / appreciative enquiries and engage workforces to understand how success is created with the business and what teams need to replicate success
  • Support, coordinate and lead investigations of incidents including high potential incidents to ensure effective learning outcomes and timely closure of actions
  • Ensure the implementation of the Safety Management System and Environmental Management System including compliance with all relevant statutory provisions

This role would suit a progressive minded individual who would be motivated in carrying out behavioural safety assurance activities throughout the business. There will be key responsibilities to act as an adviser, facilitator and champion for HSE delivery and to be tasked with providing local advice and support to assist site managers and staff to fulfil their safety responsibility.

Personal required attributes:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Technical knowledge in Safety & Environmental risk management
  • Coaching, training and audit investigation competence
  • Excellent engagement and communication skills to be able to influence various stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong ability to review and analyse information quickly
