Acre is delighted to be working for one of London's leading investment groups on this newly created role. The firm has decided to allocate £100m per year to build a portfolio of high impact, equity investments aimed at solving some of humanity's greatest challenges. The fund will enhance and evolve the current philanthropic activities of the group.
The Impact investing manager will support the director to execute and complete deals as well as manage all expenses and disbursements related to the portfolio. Initially the portfolio will focus its deal sourcing activities in Eastern Africa and India.
Themes for the fund will include but not be limited to the following:
Empowering individuals in low income areas to control their sexual and reproductive health to avoid unintended pregnancy, unsafe abortion and HIV/AIDS;
Improving children and mothers' health and nutrition, eliminating deaths from severe acute malnutrition,
Ending child labour and sexual exploitation.
Creating a climate-safe future for today's and future generations that also bear the benefits of cleaner air, energy security and sustainable jobs.
Prepare and present high quality investments memo with comprehensive deal due diligence, to support the Impact investing director.
Personally manage a caseload of live investments initially a £15m portfolio which will grow over time.
Participate on deal teams that include sector technical experts, legal and investment colleagues to execute new investments.
Conduct structured feasibility analysis on investment proposals, using an appropriate range of methodologies and techniques, to ensure they are based on logical and robust assumptions, which can withstand scrutiny from the Board.
Proactively maintain extensive external networks with experts and opinion-formers within the international development community
Manage and monitor portfolio investments and facilitate interactions between investees, sector teams and the business with regards to strategic, financial and legal opportunities and issues.
Conduct rigorous due diligence and on-going monitoring of potential investments and partners, using agreed corporate protocols and techniques, to assess their suitability and credentials for investment.
Educated to post-graduate degree level, or equivalent by experience, within finance.
Investment and finance experience at an associate at a top-tier venture capital, private equity or similar financial institution with experience in deal sourcing, execution and portfolio engagement.
Minimum of two-years of applicable career experience.
Deep interest in principal investing and belief in the capacity of impact investing methodologies to drive innovative social impact.
