Acre is delighted to be supporting one of the global leading impact investment groups identify an Impact Measurement Manager to work across the entirety of their direct and fund based investment portfolio.

This individual will work with partners and investments on the ground in Africa and South Asia to develop impact though leadership as well as asses a pipeline of investments on their impact.

This role sits in a team that delivers technical leadership across the group by assessing, managing and evaluating the impact of the investments make.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Using impact measurement techniques to support the investment team in the selection and strategy for new investment opportunities
  • Engage with investee companies and fund partners to maximise the positive the impact of all investments
  • Delivering leadership across the investment industry by participating in the development of impact measurement techniques that can be deliver positive impact at scale across financial markets.
  • Lead and develop a concise, distinctive and credible development impact thesis for each investment.
  • Contribute to investment papers and attend investment committees.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of strategic initiatives and partnerships providing insights to enhance impact.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Strong academic credentials. Preferably an MBA, Master's in economics, Development Economics or equivalent degree,
  • Significant work experience, incl. direct experience in assessing and monitoring impact within the investment industry,
  • Alternatively experience from similar role in private sector development and/or assessing impact through strategic consulting is also welcome,
  • Relevant work experience in emerging markets and developing economies, preferably in Africa and South Asia,
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, private sector development and how to achieve development outcomes through private sector investment,
  • Outstanding communication skills - the ability to describe complex development impact scenarios with accuracy and concision; and the ability to explain development impact to non-professionals and engage with senior stakeholders.
