Acre are supporting one of the largest and most innovative sustainable finance groups to identify a high-profile leader for their green ratings and advisory team. This individual will play a key role in the development of existing products as well as developing our clients advisory offering globally. There will be significant interaction with counterparties, existing and potential clients, including portfolio managers, pension fund trustees, infrastructure investors and government entities. Furthermore, the director will be given the opportunity to deliver cutting edge frameworks and analysis to drive innovation in the field of green impact measurement on a wide range of public platforms, globally. The role will be based in Edinburgh but will work closely with teams in London and across the globe. Responsibilities:
  • Develop assessment methodologies for new technologies, new sectors and new geographies
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the field of green impact measurement and reporting
  • Work closely with the groups marketing team, devising and delivering a go to market strategy for new and existing clients
  • Lead the assessment of potential investments internally to ensure they comply with our client's green objectives
  • Lead Green Impact assessments for existing and potential projects
  • Assist in managing team personnel and workload
  • Pro-actively work with the broader business to help build an enduring institution.
Essential experience:
  • Extensive relevant work experience with a proven track record of applying environmental science and policy in sectors such as infrastructure development, investment banking, private equity or advisory
  • Strong technical understanding of environmental issues, to enable assessment of projects' environmental characteristics and risks
  • Quantification of the environmental benefits (green impact) of investments is a key feature of the role, so strong numeracy skills and ability to handle data are essential
  • Must have significant experience in the Renewables or Clean Energy market, preferably with sector deal experience
  • Demonstration of thought leadership in this field
  • Experience in managing other professionals to a high standard of delivery
  • Confidence to present on the international stage
  • A self-motivated, committed work ethic and a drive for perfection as well as keen attention to detail
