Insights and Creative Content Manager

Acre is incredibly excited to partner with Plastic Oceans (UK) to source an ambitious, energetic and assertive Insights and Creative Content Manager. This newly created role will provide an ambitious individual with an opportunity to help shape the organisation's future and turn awareness into action by activating young people as agents of change.

Plastic Oceans (UK) is a dedicated non-profit organisation who first defined their mission to, 'End plastic entering the ocean within a generation' in 2009. Since then they have been at the forefront of raising awareness of plastic pollution - including the production of the award-winning feature-length film A Plastic Ocean.

This role will initially report directly to the CEO and will work closely with the Founder, Jo Ruxton and the rest of the UK team. Responsibilities for this unique position include:

  • Planning and directing research to create new and effective content and insights while managing external agencies where appropriate
  • Reviewing all current content to determine what is missing and filling in knowledge gaps/building improvements as needed
  • Understanding the aims and activity of Plastic Oceans (UK) to support effective engagement
  • Preparing appropriate content briefs and budgets while agreeing to prioritisation and accountabilities
  • Ensuring all published content is current and impactful while working directly with the wider team to effectively communicate Plastic Oceans' story and mission

Additional requirements for this role include:

  • Previous, relevant and tangible content development experience
  • Experience planning and commissioning research
  • A passion and enthusiasm for the sustainability/environmental sector
  • Flexibility, emotional intelligence, self-awareness and a thoughtful, tenacious and inspiring nature
  • Being comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by the opportunity to improve the impact of Plastic Oceans' engagement activity
