Acre has been mandated by USS Investment Management (IM), a leading and highly respected UK pension fund, to recruit a Responsible Investment (RI) Analyst to join the accomplished RI team that plays an integral role in the wider internal investment team.

This position will have a focus on Corporate Governance and contribute to the further integration of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) factors into voting and investment decisions and ongoing stewardship across listed equities and other asset classes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Corporate Governance analysis and oversight for proxy voting process including policy development
  • Undertake analysis of ESG factors in sectors, companies and other assets across portfolios
  • The development and implementation of company and policy engagement strategies to address responsible investment concerns
  • To respond to portfolio manager requests and be proactive with information for them and the wider team
  • To support the private markets' and other external manager ESG due diligence and monitoring processes
  • Input into submissions on RI focused policy consultations

Experience sought:

The successful candidate can come from a variety of backgrounds, such as:

  • ESG / RI Analyst or corporate governance specialist in asset management or at a service provider
  • Legal or public policy experience, or
  • Experience of technical ESG or sustainability at company level

Key differentiators are experience or strong understanding of corporate governance, exemplary communication and analytical skills combined with the ability to be credible and add value in an investment management context. A relevant academic background and attention to detail are essential in this role.

  Any professional qualifications, or evidence of working towards qualifications such as IIMR, CFA or similar, are advantageous.
