Acre is pleased to be working exclusively with a leading global fashion and apparel retailer, currently operating in 11 countries, with over 360 stores in Europe and America.

Mirroring a well-established, global programme committed to ethical trading, the sustainability team is now growing with the hiring of a new Senior Sustainability Manager to lead a team of three.

Reporting to the Global Environmental Sustainability Controller, this newly created position will give the successful candidate the opportunity to influence senior leadership to support the development of the global sustainability programme.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing the Responsible Sourcing, Circular Economy, Animal Welfare and Biodiversity strategies
  • Ensuring the success of the Sustainable Materials Programmes working internally and externally to commercialise the use of sustainable materials
  • Supporting continuous improvement of the broader sustainability strategy covering Chemicals, Water, Energy and Emissions, Resources & Waste
  • Actively monitoring industry developments on fabric & fibre innovation, supporting the identification and integration of new solutions
  • Maintaining strong relationships with regional stakeholders, both internal and external, ensuring the highest degree of integrity, confidence and gravitas in all operations

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of Responsible Sourcing in the textiles sector with a strategic, global outlook on the key issues across the Sustainability agenda, including its links into the corporate world.

We are seeking:

  • Degree level qualification in Sustainability
  • Extensive experience managing and developing projects and teams
  • Good working knowledge of product manufacturing processes
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Extensive experience working with relevant industry initiatives e.g BCI, Textile Exchange, Ellen Macarthur and the Leather Working group, to name a few
