Acre is excited to be working with a global leader in commercial property and real estate to identify their new HSEQ Manager for Northern Europe. Reporting into the Head of function, you'll be responsible for outlining and managing the strategic direction of HSEQ in your region. You'll deliver measurable improvements in Health and Safety performance and engagement across the organization in support of key business objectives.

You'll become part of a new EMEA-wide HSEQ function, you'll work closely with colleagues to identify areas of potential risk and developing robust mitigation controls. As a commercially aware individual comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, you'll relish the opportunity to make a difference and truly influence how HSEQ is managed within the business.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Working across all departments of the business in your region, forging critical relationships with key stakeholders to influence change and improvement, particularly in higher risk business units
  • Developing, implementing and managing the delivery of appropriate objectives, targets and improvement programmes in line with wider business objectives
  • Engaging with operational managers, providing support and technical advice to enable them to undertake their roles with due consideration for health and safety responsibilities
  • Presenting routinely at corporate meetings and steering groups to increase HSEQ awareness and engagement and demonstrating to clients the company's credibility and expertise
  • Developing appropriate arrangements to ensure that contractors and third-party suppliers are vetted, managed and effectively controlled, and monitoring the activities of external consultants operating on behalf of the HSEQ Team

You'll lead on and champion the ongoing improvement of health, safety, environmental and quality management systems in your region, developing positive relationships throughout the business and acting as a reference point for all things HSEQ. Your communication skills will be key in enabling people to take ownership of their own safety and that of their colleagues and clients.

To succeed, you'll need:

  • Degree/diploma level qualification in Health and Safety or a similarly relevant subject, with membership of a recognized industry body
  • Demonstrable experience of developing, implementing and refining HSEQ management systems
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrable experience of engaging positively, building relationships and influencing at a senior level
  • Detailed knowledge of the practical application of safety in the fields of construction, property and/or technical management
  • Fluency in Dutch, with other European language proficiencies being advantageous
