Acre are pleased to be working with one of the world's largest independent investment management groups to further the development of their global responsible investment team.

This position will produce sustainability focused analysis at company, sector and thematic level globally. It will also be a driving force behind the firm's active ownership activities at company and collaborative level. The strategist will work closely with investment teams, delivering ESG analysis highlighting both the risk and value drivers to be incorporated across actively managed assets in equities and fixed income.

Key responsibilities:

  • Producing proprietary company level research with emphasis on investment relevance for active investment strategies
  • Generalist research coverage globally and across equities and fixed interest
  • Producing sector level thematic ESG analysis on specific areas of interest across investment teams
  • Monitoring company activities on an on-going basis and keeping abreast of event risks
  • Engaging with companies both at senior executive and non-executive board levels
  • Collaborating with other investors on thematic areas of interest via networks and forums
  • Analysing environmental and socially related shareholder resolutions
  • Effectively engaging with investment teams on ESG company and sector research as well as portfolio level views of ESG performance
  • Representing the group at industry forums and events
  • Contributing to special projects and other team activities

Experience sought:

  • Keen understanding of the issues, challenges, solutions and opportunities that sustainability represents for investment teams
  • Ability to look across sectors to highlight how sustainability mega trends can be incorporated into investment processes at fund level
  • Previous experience in producing ESG company level research
  • Demonstrable interest in ESG issues including in-depth knowledge and prior use of ESG research tools
  • Strong knowledge of investment management in both equities and fixed income
