Acre is delighted to be exclusively partnering with Britain's leading family owned food manufacturing business to support on their search for an Social and Environmental Sustainability Manager to lead a team of 4 specialists, ensuring sustainability is embedded across all facets of the business.

Responsibilities include

  • Being the lead for all environmental elements such as energy and carbon footprint strategy, driving a low carbon approach to transport and supporting the sustainable package agenda and food waste topics
  • Leading ethical trading and sustainable farming strategies, whilst overseeing the award winning community investment strategy
  • Ensuring the continued success of the four direct reports and their respective specialisms including health and wellbeing, community and charity partnerships
  • Building strong relationships and influencing internal and external stakeholders, including the business' owners, retail customers, steering groups, trade associations and non-profits

Reporting to the HR Director, the successful candidate will be a commercially astute sustainability strategist, with broad exposure across environmental and social sustainability topics.

Other requirements include

  • Management level sustainability experience, ideally within a multi-site manufacturing environment
  • Experience in managing a small and highly autonomous team
  • Strong project management skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels internally and externally
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and resilience, and collegiate approach to operating
