The way we consume goods is changing. As consumers look at the way their products are produced, supply chains have come under increased scrutiny for their impact on the environment and the welfare of the producers.
The agricultural industry faces many challenges, from child labour to safe working conditions. My client, a global FMCG company, see sustainability as a key driver for profitability. Due to the growth of their sustainable agriculture programme, they need a Social Sustainability Lead to support their 350,000 farmers from 27 different countries.
In this role, you will be the Lead across the three key regions, prioritising work in Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An academic background in agronomy / agricultural production (or equivalent experience)
An understanding of agricultural economics and social science / human behaviour
Working knowledge of agricultural supply chains and the social programmes associated.
If you are passionate about ensuring workers get clean and safe accommodation, earn a fair wage for their work and have access to the right personal-protective-equipment, please get in touch for an informal conversation.
