Global Action Plan is changing the world for the better by making the connection between what is good for us and good for the planet. They do this by partnering with like-minded organisations to lead national environmental campaigns, ground breaking research and international behavioural and values change programmes. They're also the people behind Clean Air Day, the UK's largest air pollution campaign.

This is an exciting opportunity to join GAP in a newly created, Strategic Account Director role. The person we are looking for needs to have the experience, confidence and self-direction to hit the ground running and be energised by a fast-paced, creative and flexible work environment. You will be the sort of person who is constantly thinking about how to make what you and your organisation are doing, bigger, better and more impactful - and the sort of person who then makes it happen.

You will report directly into GAP's Senior Partner and play a lead role in co-creating new partnerships with corporates and then spearheading delivery on these.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing corporate partners – always thinking years beyond the current project, challenging them to be bold and ambitious, finding opportunities for collaboration that create significant societal and environmental impact and developing a partnership strategy and creative new project concepts to deliver this ambition
  • Accountable for partnership outcome communication and PR – working across project teams to ensure the high quality and timely delivery of crucial external and or client-facing outputs, communications and events: in particular strategic oversight of insight gathering to inform programme design and of outcome communications to build the story for future partnership
  • Support new partnership strategy - work with GAP’s leadership to develop new creative project and campaign concepts, identify potential corporate partners and collaborate on new business proposals and pitching in the context of an agreed strategic direction.

You Will:

  • Have a proven track record in business development - developing commercial propositions and taking these out to business partners
  • Have knowledge of our major sustainability issues and a belief that people play an important role in solving them
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication and project management skills and be comfortable working closely with C-Suite, Directors and Heads Of.
  • Be able to influence decisions and confident to work with clients to co-create innovative sustainability projects
  • A background in planning/developing creative communications and or behaviour change interventions/campaigns will be beneficial.

Your ability to form strong ambitious long-term partnerships will help Global Action Plan to tackle major issues that are threatening the wellbeing of both people and the planet - from the impacts of air pollution on our children’s lungs and our climate - to the consequences of hyper-consumption and a throw away culture on our mental health and natural habitats. You will help millions of people to strive towards sustainable lifestyles that are better for us and the planet.
