Acre are pleased to be supporting a leading Investment Management group as they seek to build out their new Sustainable Investment function by hiring a Sustainable Investment Consultant. This is an initial 6 month contract role to initiate the development of this function. Acre are looking to speak to individuals who can be available to commence the assignment in February/March 2018. The sustainable investment consultant will support the CIO in the following ways:
  • Manage the ongoing implementation of Sustainable Investment (SI) practices and associated forums, governance, and networks/working groups involved in the topic
  • Integrate ESG considerations into investment process and teams, as well as build their capabilities
  • Undertake ESG research and analysis to support investment teams' decision making.
Key Accountabilities
  • Manage the roll out of the SI implementation plan
  • Coordinate, and contribute to, various internal working groups and collaborative efforts to support SI implementation
  • Provide support to related investment teams to make required changes to their investment processes, and build capabilities on SI topics
  • Coordinate responses to annual PRI reporting as well as any industry surveys and research studies
  • Develop a group wide SI Forum, including colleague engagement, setting the agenda, building consensus and ensuring delivery
  • Utilise ESG research to support decision making of investment teams
  • Identify approaches to analyse and interpret financial and sustainability data to provide insights to the investment teams
  • Write briefings on specific companies, sectors and themes to inform investment decision takers
  • Where required, provide research summaries of sustainability data, alongside primary and secondary research
  • Work with the RFP teams to respond to sustainability and ESG-related questions
Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Prior experience of ESG integration/investment is essential
  • Substantive knowledge of ESG issues across asset classes and investment processes
  • Ability to build rapport and instil credibility with investment teams
  • Strong project management and governance skills is essential
