Job Summary:

Are you ready to make a real difference? As a Carbon BD Manager at The Climate Trust, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing their offset sales strategies. Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, you'll forge partnerships with voluntary carbon offset buyers, execute agreements, and oversee our carbon inventory system. Your mission? To drive sales, manage relationships, and propel their impact forward.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Carbon Business Development:

  • Cultivate relationships with project developers, corporate ESG officers, brokers, and other stakeholders in the voluntary carbon market.

  • Actively engage with existing customers, addressing their CO2 management challenges and needs.

  • Negotiate and execute agreements for offset offtake in collaboration with the COO.

  • Collaborate with project teams and marketing specialists on marketing strategies.

  • Advise corporate offset buyers on sustainability goals and propose tailored solutions.

  • Manage customer accounts, ensuring mutual success and satisfaction.

  • Represent The Climate Trust at industry events, gathering market insights and engaging with stakeholders.

  • Coordinate agreements with accounting staff and track market trends.

Support and Manage the Offset Program Portfolio:

  • Maintain our internal project portfolio and program registry.

  • Track financial impact and credit delivery status of contracted projects.

  • Generate data and draft reports to support long-term offset programs.

  • Communicate program statuses and ensure successful completion of deliverables.

Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with additional tasks such as drafting articles and supporting presentations.

Knowledge and Skills Needed:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.

  • Demonstrable experience with carbon offset projects and the voluntary carbon offset market.

  • Proficiency in Sales CRM software, Salesforce preferred.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • BS or MS in Environmental Science, Economics, Business, Finance, or related field.

  • Enthusiasm, proactivity, and perseverance.

  • Passion for making a positive impact and telling our story.
