Environmental Impact & LCA Officer

Confidential Client

Are you passionate about organic and regenerative agriculture?

Are you excited by the opportunity to drive meaningful change across the global fashion industry?

Acre is proud to partner with a global NGO to recruit an Environmental Impact Officer who will play a critical role in embedding sustainability throughout the cotton supply chain.

What Will You Be Doing?

As the Environmental Impact Officer, you will report to the Programme Impact Manager and be a key member of the NGO’s Secretariat based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

You will strengthen the case for organic farming by developing robust methodologies and reporting frameworks in areas such as eco-toxicity, greenhouse gas emissions, water use and retention, biodiversity, and carbon insetting. You will manage projects and create credible, data-driven environmental impact reports and claims. You will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and engagement around the organisation’s environmental agenda.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) programme and carbon insetting projects.
  • Develop biodiversity reporting based on the established indicator framework.
  • Design methodologies to improve irrigation data collection in organic agriculture and assess water use and retention in organic soils.
  • Create logical, sequenced overviews of agricultural interventions that support farmer decision-making and credit access.
  • Integrate environmental KPIs into programme monitoring systems and dashboards, with consistent feedback loops.
  • Manage environmental primary data exchanges with partner organisations and co-develop related impact reports.
  • Use remote sensing data to assess and report environmental outcomes in agricultural projects.
  • Collaborate closely with external consultants, implementation partners, and internal M&E and Data teams.
  • Represent the organisation in multi-stakeholder platforms, standard-setting bodies, and collaborative research efforts focused on organic farming and environmental impact.
  • Monitor and align the organisation’s work with leading global sustainability frameworks.
  • Contribute to the organisation’s Theory of Change and Learning Agenda, ensuring environmental outcomes are fully integrated into strategic frameworks and programme design.

Who Are You, and What Do You Bring?

You are driven by environmental sustainability and impact, with a strong foundation in reporting, process design, and project management. You’re confident representing your organisation, even in complex conversations, and thrive in communicating the “why” behind your work. You set clear expectations for yourself and know when to seek support. You’re fluent in English and thrive in a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural environment.

We know skills and competencies show up in many ways and can be based on your life experience. If you do not meet all the requirements listed, we still encourage you to speak to us about this opportunity.
