It is for this reason that the team is looking to bring on board a technically skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced battery energy storage systems and play a critical role in driving the energy transition.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the design of electrical installations with a focus on AutoCAD-based schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams. Leveraging your knowledge of Low and Medium Voltage systems, you’ll contribute to the technical execution of battery storage projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and installation plans using AutoCAD
- Perform technical calculations for cable sizing, short-circuit currents, and voltage drops for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), revisions, and drawing updates
- Ensure designs comply with national and international standards (e.g. NEN 1010, IEC) and internal quality guidelines
- Collaborate with project managers, fellow engineers, and clients to align technical solutions with project goals
- Support the standardisation and optimisation of internal design processes
- Contribute technical expertise to the integration of battery energy storage systems within broader electrical infrastructure
- Stay current on developments in battery and energy storage technologies to inform engineering solutions
Key Requirements
The organisation is seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer with a strong foundation in electrical systems and a passion for sustainable energy. The ideal candidate is analytical, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to innovative battery storage solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in electrical design, ideally within energy storage or renewable energy systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is a plus
- Strong understanding of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems
- Ability to carry out technical calculations for cable sizing, short-circuit currents, and voltage drops
- Familiarity with applicable standards such as NEN 1010, IEC, and other relevant codes
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail, structured working style, and ability to manage technical documentation
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and eagerness to contribute to process improvement and standardisation
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently when needed
