Through the application of innovative digital solutions, they support Sustainable Development Goals and operate across the globe with a network of centres and 49 member countries.
As part of the growing demand, they are looking for a Climate Change Manager to lead the efforts in climate change adaptation, mitigation, and resilience within agriculture and the environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence and implement climate strategies and contribute to global climate action initiatives.
You will be responsible for:
Strategic Leadership:
Lead our climate change initiatives and integrate climate-focused approaches in flagship programs.
Develop and implement strategies to support member countries' climate objectives, including Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs).
Project Development and Coordination:
Oversee the development of transformative climate solutions impacting agrifood systems.
Embed climate impacts and indicators across projects and secure climate funding.
Research and Partnerships:
Lead and coordinate climate adaptation, resilience, and greenhouse gas mitigation research.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with international organizations, UN agencies, and research bodies.
You will already have:
Minimum 10 years experience in climate change adaptation in agriculture.
Deep understanding of agriculture, climate change, biodiversity processes, and development sectors.
Strong leadership, project management, and research skills.
Postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in natural sciences, agriculture, development cooperation, or related fields with a climate change focus.
This role is based in either Oxfordshire or Surrey but there will be flexible working options offered.
