Acre is working with a private-equity fund manager focused on emerging markets infrastructure investments, including transportation, and logistics in addition to opportunities within energy and power. Combining attractive risk-adjusted returns with the purpose to support sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the target regions, whilst delivering attractive returns to its investors.

This organisation recognises that infrastructure investments that are made now have an impact on the future. Wanting to be an active participant in the low carbon transition, this firm is looking to onboard an ESG Analyst with relevant experience within the sustainable finance sector. To be based in their office in The Hague.

As an ESG Analyst, you will report to the Head of ESG, and will play a key role in building best practice reporting and back-office support processes in close cooperation with the investment team and portfolio company board representatives.

You will take an active role in ensuring that their ESG framework and reporting processes operate successfully and in accordance with applicable regulations and agreements with investors.

This position is full-time. As they have other offices and a focus on growth markets, you should expect some travel activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keeping up to date with increasing and evolving regulatory ESG trends and legal requirements, including the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation and EU Taxonomy Regulation.

  • Going beyond compliance and understanding the KPIs and methodology appropriate to demonstrate the ESG performance and desired impact, alongside financial targets.

  • Developing and maintaining the ESG performance process and reporting framework throughout the investment cycle.

  • Facilitating and controlling quantitative and qualitative data collection from the portfolio companies.

  • Supporting and managing reporting from the investment team and portfolio companies. Whilst analysing data and identifying opportunities for improvements ahead of internal quarterly ESG performance reviews and Risk and ESG meetings.

  • Preparing quarterly and annual ESG reports to investors, including the TCFD disclosure and impact assessment using the Joint Impact Model, and preparing the annual report to UN PRI.

  • Liaising with investors and other stakeholders regarding ESG performance and impact.

Your profile:

You are a high performer with a strong analytical mindset. You have a passion for sustainable investments in emerging markets and have a strong business acumen. You understand that in a small team you roll up your sleeves, contribute and support each other to get jobs done and you thrive in such a hands-on environment.

You also bring:

  • Advanced university degree in international business, economics, finance, political science, or similar.

  • A keen interest in ESG and may have written your thesis on this topic.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a ESG reporting function in private equity, pension fund, private equity-owned company, or consulting.

  • Analytical, systematic, thorough, and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage short deadlines while maintaining high standards of work.

  • Fluency in English is required both verbally and in writing.
