Briggs of Burton plc is a leading engineering and manufacturing company, designing and building process engineering solutions that serve the clean energy, chemical & environmental, and liquid food industries. They are part of the CETP group, made up of Ziemann Holvrieka, DME Systems and Briggs of Burton plc. Briggs is on an excellent financial trajectory, and they're looking for someone to deliver and embed their sustainability strategy across the group.

Acre is delighted to be supporting Briggs on a newly created Group Sustainability Manager role reporting to the COO. The group will be going through IPO in the next few years and has exciting growth plans, so it's a significant and exciting time for the business. They have ambitious climate neutrality targets in place and are looking for someone to drive sustainability forward across the group and embed an impactful strategy.

In this role, you will be:

  • Driving sustainability across the group, including executing the carbon reduction plan, developing the DEI strategy and following good governance practices

  • Collaborating with different departments to embed sustainability across the group and managing communications with different teams within the organisation

  • Keeping abreast of upcoming legislative changes that will affect Briggs and building strategies to manage these into the sustainability strategy

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the group

  • Fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the group to ensure sustainability objectives are met

You will be the sustainability leader, developing strategies that affect the entire business, including driving Briggs' carbon reduction plan, embedding a positive and inclusive culture across the group, communicating with diverse teams in different geographies and influencing decision-makers to make positive steps to ensure the business is future-proofed.

You'll have:

  • A strong understanding of sustainability, having worked in an international organisation previously

  • An adept communication style with the ability to influence and lead

  • Experience being a self-starter who is ambitious and comfortable in fast-paced environments with a feel for the technical aspects of sustainability and a strategic head

  • Be comfortable with international travel as you will visit CETP sites globally

  • You will need to be on-site at Brigg's Burton-on-Trent operations for a couple of times a week, so it's important that you live near commutable distance

Briggs employees are inspiring individuals who are passionate about what they do, and you'll need to share that ambition.
