Acre is partnering with the MSC to identify a supply chain standards professional to join MSC's team, on a 14-month fixed-term contract. This is a maternity cover position stepping in for the Head of Supply Chain Standards Operations.

This role provides a tremendous opportunity for the right individual to make a significant contribution toward the delivery of MSC's mission and strategic plans, including leading the review of the MSC's Best in Class Supply Chain Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Supply Chain Standards Director on strategic decision-making and ensuring the day-to-day operation of the Chain of Custody Standard, leading the team's project activities

  • Engage, represent, and build internal & and external relationships, including stepping in as the deputy chair for the SCWG (supply chain working group)

  • Build strategic relationships to explore new standards developments, including partnerships aimed at delivering efficiencies and increasing the credibility of the Chain of Custody Standard

  • Oversee the Supply Chain Standards audit process, including issues and the incident management, variation, and interpretation requests

  • Lead, delegate, and/or oversee policy development projects, notably the current ongoing MSC Chain of Custody standard review, providing guidance and direction to team members

  • Line-manage, coach, and develop aligned Supply Chain Standard team members

To be successful in this role, you'll be a highly motivated and dynamic individual with:

  • ​Proven project management skills

  • The ability to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the Chain of Custody Standard (CoCS), leading the team's activities on high-profile projects, investigations, issue management and policy development

  • Experience of Supply Chain Standards audit process

  • Experience working at a senior level in a multi-stakeholder organisation in the food industry, certification and standard-setting organisations or sustainable management

  • Proven team leadership skills

  • Good working knowledge of global supply chains and the key challenges and opportunities facing them
