Connected Places Catapult (CPC) is the UK's innovation accelerator for cities, transport, and places. They provide impartial 'Innovation as a Service' for public bodies, businesses, and infrastructure providers to catalyse step-change improvements in the way people live, work and travel. CPC connects businesses and public sector leaders to cutting-edge research to spark innovation and grow new markets.
Acre is working with CPC to recruit the newly created position; Head of Sustainability. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, CPC is looking for a leader to drive sustainability throughout their business. This will be a position that is both "customer facing" as well as looking internally, improving the environmental and social impacts.
As Head of Sustainability, you will:
Oversee the overall execution, mission, and efficacy of the sustainability programme - developing a framework and strategy that will apply to Catapult activities.
Assess and analyse company policies and processes to identify areas in and processes to which improvements can be made in accordance with the organisation's commitment to sustainability.
Develop innovative and creative ways in which the company can balance business obligations with the goal of respecting, supporting, and improving the local and global environments.
Propose and implement strategies to address various sustainability concerns, including energy use, conservation, reduction of pollution, recycling, health and wellbeing, social inclusion, community engagement, and general education on sustainability.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Proven track record in developing and deploying company-wide strategy & policy.
Experience in leading complex multi-sector programmes with demonstrable impact and benefit within both the public and private sectors.
Expert knowledge and thorough experience and understanding of UK Net Zero policy and programmes, including understanding pertaining to SME ecosystems, local authorities & large corporates.
Ability to interact with senior stakeholders (up to board level) with the ability to engage and work constructively with a range of stakeholders and partners.
