Acre has partnered with Eataly to identify the Head of Sustainability who will embark the organisation on a transformative journey, weaving sustainability into its core values.

Eataly is the world’s largest artisanal Italian marketplace and dining experience. Founded in Torino in 2007 and with 40+ locations, Eataly shares Italy’s culinary excellence with the world. As the Head of Sustainability, you will shape and lead a global sustainability strategy to enhance Eataly's high-quality food supply chain.


What will you be doing in this role?

  • Design a sustainability strategy positioning the brand ahead of existing and upcoming regulations.

  • Lead a materiality assessment to identify and understand the importance of ESG and sustainability topics across Eataly’s value chain.

  • Stay updated on sustainability trends and regulations, acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Oversee the publication of the sustainability report.

  • Partner with the procurement department to create policies and activities engaging, supporting and educating Eataly suppliers in meeting sustainability standards.

  • Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and be responsible for presenting sustainability roadmap progress and KPIs to the board and the investors.

  • Occasionally travel overseas to meet key stakeholders and monitor the strategy’s implementation in other regions.

  • Experience leading and implementing climate, circularity, and biodiversity strategies within an international corporate environment.

  • Subject matter expertise in different sustainability standards, certifications and knowledge of current and upcoming regulations (E.g., GRI, BCorp, SBTI, CSRD).

  • Track record in managing ESG relations within a private equity-owned organisation or a publicly listed company.

  • A keen interest in the food retail space and the agrifood value chain, coupled with the ambition to promote Italian excellence abroad.

  • Proficiency in English and Italian is crucial for success in this role.

  • Based in Milan or open to relocation.
