Acre has been engaged on an exclusive basis by a specialist civil engineering, construction and facilities management (FM) business to identify a new Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Adviser. The role will be home-based with daily travel to various clients across the UK.

This is an FM focused role, which sits with the central team and reports into the Head of HSEQ. With core clients across the public sector, including hospitals, stadia, education and various government contacts, this is a challenging and varied role that would suit an individual who enjoys working autonomously.

To be successful, you will have previous experience in the management of HSEQ across complex multi-site portfolios & have practical working knowledge of HSEQ ideally with within FM or Property.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing strong, visible, proactive leadership in connection with health, safety, and environmental protection.

  • Creating a positive approach to accident prevention, protecting the health of all personnel on-site.

  • Supporting the inspection and auditing of sites to ensure the company complies with 18001 or 45001 obligations.

  • Being aware of the company targets for Health & Safety performance and the strategy to achieve them.

  • Understanding the contractual arrangements in relation to health and safety across various project and assisting the project team to deliver them,

It is vital the post holder has a high level of gravitas and engagement, delivering their work in an open, energetic, and enthusiastic way.

The Successful Individual Will Have:

  • Previous experience within Health and Safety in ideally a property or facilities management environment, while managing H&S management systems to OSHAS 18001 or ISO 45001 standards.

  • Ideally, you will hold the NEBOSH certification, an NVQ3 or any other equivalent certification, and working towards NCRQ L6, NEBOSH Diploma L6 or NVQ5 or equivalent.

  • Hold or working towards GradIOSH.

  • Must be willing and able to travel across the UK and to other locations deemed necessary.
