Are you experienced in leading Climate Strategy?

Acre is partnering with a global plant-based food producer to identify an Interim Head of Climate & Nature on an initial 10-month maternity cover assignment.

People all around the world are embracing plant-based foods for both health and ethical reasons. Acre is proud to be partnered with an organisation that drives positive change in people's health, their daily lives and our planet's sustainability.

In this role, you will be working on global strategy and transformation to drive the programme, create long-term value and deliver commitments for a purpose lead organisation. In this role, you will lead the critical business transformation programme across markets and functions, including the commitments on carbon, packaging, sourcing and reduction in environmental impact.

You will:

  • Lead the strategic development and execution of ESG commitments under the better planet pillar of the ESG plan.

  • Define, develop and drive the implementation of the 'better than' net zero commitment and climate policies, programmes and performance.

  • Own and develop the company approach to carbon labelling, lifecycle assessment and leadership in communicating the benefits of the portfolio and products.

  • Strong stakeholder management is needed as you partner with the sales and marketing teams to develop value-creating plans with retailers, customers and consumers who support growth in plant-based products and inspire the shift to plant-based diets.

  • Ensure public reporting requirements are met on climate and nature (TCFD & TCND).

  • Provide technical advisory and business partnership to drive reporting & delivery of plastic, responsible sourcing, and sustainability targets.

About you:

  • You hold a Master's degree or equivalent in sustainability or a related discipline.

  • At least 10 years experience leading climate and/or nature strategy.

  • Ability to lead and deliver change in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills as you work with a diverse range of internal and external business partners: from governmental bodies to the local global plants.

This is a rare opportunity to join an excellent and highly reputable, and visible company with impressive sustainability credentials and commitment to transformation. With the chance to be exposed to a dynamic culture and be a core member of their growing sustainability team, the role is an exciting prospect.
