Senior Systems Engineer

Acre has partnered with an electrolyzer technology developer backed by the leading global cleantech VC firms that is revolutionizing the hydrogen supply chain through first-principles innovation in manufacturing. They've just closed a major funding round positioning them as the most promising high-growth startup in the hydrogen landscape. With the new funding, they are scaling their engineering teams significantly and are in need of someone to lead systems engineering.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, they are looking for a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer / team lead to come in and lead cross-functional teams contributing to balance of plant (BOP) design, DVP&R, and commercial systems integration efforts. This person will be responsible for mentoring junior engineers, leading FMEAs, HAZOPs, SOPs and P&ID development, and will be the authority responsible for the design, procurement, operation and maintenance of custom electroyzer test stations and commercial deployments.

They are looking for someone with:

• An advanced degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years’ experience in process or systems engineering

• Experience leading teams directly or indirectly is strongly desired

• Technical expertise in electrolyzer, hydrogen and fuel cell systems is desirable, but experience with HVACR, O&G and Industrial Gas processing systems is also desirable (SMR, ATR, Blue Hydrogen, CO2 capture, etc.)

• Expertise in process safety, Heat & Mass Balances, PFD and P&ID generation, fluid and thermodynamics is desirable

• Experience developing safety critical control systems and experience developing instrumentation schemes for gaseous or aqueous test systems
