In this role, you will enable the sustainability journey of familiar brands such as Mentos, Chupa Chups, Smint, and Fruittella. You will join a global organization with 18K employees, 38 Operating Companies and 31 Manufacturing facilities spread worldwide.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Collaborate closely with PVM's Group Procurement and Sustainability functions to craft and execute a sustainable sourcing strategy aligned with the requirements of PVM's Sustainability Goals.

  • Lead the creation of policies and share expertise on responsible sourcing, due diligence, traceability, and reporting within the entire value chain.

  • Manage the facilitation of environmental and social data collection from suppliers, ensuring seamless communication, pragmatic digitalization, and data exchange with all strategic partners.

  • Responsible for driving a portfolio of projects aimed at ensuring that systems, processes, and procedures comply with traceability and sustainability programs. This encompasses adherence to all relevant government regulations as well as voluntary certification schemes for global value chains, where appropriate.

  • The Sustainable Sourcing Lead manages stakeholder relationships, measures, and reports on a fixed frequency progress against various sustainability targets and outlines abatement measure roadmaps to achieve a comprehensive carbon reduction plan for Scope 3 emissions, encompassing areas like Packaging and Raw Materials.

  • The role involves aligning stakeholders across various functions, including Regulatory, R&D, and Legal.

  • It requires driving systemic change internally and bridging technical solution gaps, with a focus on achieving longer-term change management and integration into business practices for all compliance-oriented activities, such as certification/verification and signature programs.

  • Play a pivotal role in bolstering the procurement team by offering inventive solutions to tackle sustainability challenges.

  • Actively collaborate with suppliers through training programs and initiatives designed to facilitate the implementation and ongoing monitoring of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.

  • Prepare and share regular progress updates for functional leads and/or management on different sustainability work streams.

  • Be always updated on the developments in the environment, proactively share knowledge with the Strategic Procurement team and execute need-based training for the operational procurement teams.

  • Experienced procurement leader with a proven track record in sustainable procurement and responsible sourcing throughout the agrifood value chain.

  • Demonstrated expertise in conceptualizing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Scope 3 Goals, circularity, and social procurement within a multinational Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) corporation.

  • Proficient in navigating the transformative challenges posed by evolving regulations such as CSRD, CSDD, ESRS, and other forthcoming global regulatory frameworks. Adept at proactively addressing these regulatory changes to ensure compliance and maximize opportunities.

  • Good understanding of and strong working experience in Supplier Certification Standards and audit schemes like SEDEX, etc.

  • Commercially astute, with a high level of numeracy, strong analytical and negotiation skills, a very strong bias for action and the ability to bring a pragmatic approach to the role.

  • Demonstrated success in the development and execution of effective sustainable packaging procurement strategies, contributing to environmental responsibility and corporate sustainability goals.

  • Bring a strong business-focused and pragmatic approach to the achievement of PVM's Sustainability goals.

  • Outstanding cross-cultural communication, good influencing skills, ability to demonstrate a strong sense of empathy and good stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Fluent in English; any other language is a plus.

  • Amsterdam-based or open to relocation.
