Acre is proud to partner with a leading alternative investment management group with a strong history and track record in the private equity, credit, and real estate space in supporting the growth and evolution of its existing ESG foundation.

Our client is seeking a quantitatively astute ESG expert with a strong understanding of sustainable finance who finds the concept of deepening ESG integration and fluency, as well as establishing an innovative ESG strategy across a broad global portfolio which is actively managed, exciting.

The incoming VP of ESG will strive to continuously improve and refine the integration of ESG risks and opportunities into the investment lifecycle across all verticals, working closely with investment colleagues to set the portfolio company and firm wide strategies, ensuring an authentic and innovative approach.

This hire will also support the business in driving effective engagement efforts across the portfolio and evolving portfolio wide strategy, policy and forward planning to ensure a best-in-class ESG approach. This hire will partner with several areas of the business internally, including legal and compliance to fortify due diligence and monitoring of ESG strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with investment professionals to deepen ESG integration from diligence to exist

  • Evaluating and recommending best-in-class practices for implementation across the firm

  • Assisting in the development of ESG-related portfolio and firm reporting, particularly with respect to climate

  • Advancing ESG governance practices

  • Tracking and reporting sustainability goals, complying with TCFD, SASB, CDP, or GRI standards

  • Supporting the development of sustainability-oriented products and strategies

  • Developing tools and training for investment professionals

The successful candidates should:

  • Have 5-8 years of relevant experience in ESG integration

  • Have a strong understanding of investment analysis

  • Have a Bachelor's degree (major in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field preferred); MBA or CFA a plus

  • Possess outstanding attention to detail and superior organizational skills and a strong facility with both quantitative and qualitative data

  • Have ability to work with a broad range of senior stakeholders, including investment analysts, portfolio managers and senior leadership across the firm

  • Have superior communication skills, both written and verbal
