Acre has partnered with The Copper Mark to aid in their search for a Standards Manager. The Copper Mark is a leading organization advancing responsible production across global metals and minerals supply chains. As demand for sustainably produced materials accelerates during the energy transition, the Copper Mark supports companies in strengthening their social, environmental, and economic performance.

It is also a core partner in the Consolidated Mining Standard Initiative (CMSI), which is combining four well-established industry standards into one global framework. In 2026, the organization and its standards will transition to a new name and expanded structure, making this a pivotal moment to join the team.

The Copper Mark is seeking a Standards Manager to lead the development, revision, and continual improvement of the Consolidated Mining Standard. The successful candidate will work closely with internal colleagues, partner organizations, and diverse stakeholders to ensure that the standards remain credible, practical, and aligned with evolving responsible production expectations.

This is a full-time position with significant influence across the metals and minerals value chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and revision of the standards, including the CMSI standard, the Midstream standard, and updates to the Chain of Custody and Joint Due Diligence standards.
• Develop clear guidance materials to support the interpretation and implementation of standards.
• Collaborate with staff, partners, and affected stakeholders across the value chain.
• Secure acceptance and recognition of the standards from regulators, peer organizations, and downstream customers, contributing to a more streamlined global standards landscape.
• Ensure alignment between the standards, assurance processes, and monitoring and evaluation systems.

About You

• Experienced in managing standards development processes, with a sustainability lens. Mining / upstream materials experience will be useful, but not essential.
• Knowledgeable about ESG issues in minerals and metals supply chains; familiarity with chain of custody or traceability systems is an asset.
• Significant experience in sustainability, responsible sourcing, or related fields.
• A strong communicator capable of building consensus across cultures and stakeholder groups.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at producing high-quality written deliverables.

In this role, you will play a key part in developing the standard, uniting the strengths of four major industry standards into one clear, practical framework. Simplifying expectations and reducing duplication, making responsible mining more accessible and consistent worldwide. The result is a streamlined approach that can drive faster, broader improvements in social, environmental, and governance performance across the sector.
