An international multi-stakeholder initiative within the extractives and energy space is looking to grow their team.

The Assessment and Assurance Lead will be responsible for ensuring the organisation's standards process is delivering tangible results accurately and meeting their remit of promoting continuous improvement in the global supply chain. This is a critical role which ensures transparency and best practice across the supply chain, driving improved working conditions and fairer wages for workers as well as environmental sustainability.

In this role, you will be:

  • Onboarding new suppliers, updating the supplier welcome pack and onboarding information and supporting the training of Lead Assessors and Assessment Teams

  • Coordinating the planning of Supplier Site-Assessments with the Lead Assessor, including the creation of an Assessment Plan and in-country logistics

  • The point of contact for all supplier queries relating to the new online assessment platform

  • Working within member groups, contributing to their work programmes, coordinating events and supporting member engagement

This is an opportunity to join a small, dynamic, not-for-profit organisation in a complex space, driving international uptake of standards within the extractives sector. As the Assessment and Assurance Lead, you will have a detailed, methodical approach supported by a high-level understanding of sustainability issues and engage with businesses globally. You will also have the opportunity to travel to the site and gain first-hand experience.

You will have experience of:

  • Global supply chains, having worked with membership organisations in the past

  • Working in a standards role with a high level of understanding of sustainability issues, such as environmental impact, labour and working conditions, responsible sourcing and human rights

  • High proficiency in verbal and written English, able to communicate complex technical terms to all audiences

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and move at pace

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

If you see your future career in sustainability, this role presents an opportunity to step into an organisation whose sole purpose is to drive ethical and sustainable improvements in a complex, global environment.

This is a chance for you to develop hands-on experience with sustainability issues and goals within the global extractives industry and build knowledge of the corporate appetite around ESG.

This will be a fully remote role, with occasional trips into a shared working space and international meetups quarterly. Please note that all applicants must have the right to work in the UK. If you're interested in learning more, please contact Lawrence Hallett at lawrence.hallett@acre.com.
