Acre is working with a leading bank to help them hire an AVP of Environmental Sustainability.
They are one of the leading banks in the UK with a strong commitment to sustainability and backing from the board. Reporting to the Lead for Environmental Sustainability, you will be working on further developing the environmental strategy, sector-wise emissions reduction targets and portfolio alignment while also working on external engagement with industry bodies like NZBA and GFANZ.
You will be responsible for:
Supporting the development of environmental sustainability targets and ambitions
Building the team's capability as a centre of excellence for environmental sustainability
Developing thought leadership on emerging topics across environment and nature
Closely following developments with regard to industry and sector decarbonisation initiatives
Engaging in external industry initiatives that help the sector to evolve approaches to net zero, portfolio alignment and sector decarbonisation
Supporting the work to evolve the group's position on environment and climate change, taking into account stakeholder expectations, industry trends and peer activity
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Good understanding of SBTi and portfolio alignment for financial institutions
Knowledge of decarbonisation pathways and solutions for hard-to-abate sectors
Experience of working in a multi-stakeholder environment and collaborating with various teams to drive projects
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
