Climate change, and the urgency to be part of the solution, is driving major changes in energy infrastructure across the globe. Consumers and governments alike are pushing for zero-carbon energy production. Coal, nuclear, and other producers are either prohibitively costly or in decline.

The solar industry, still in its infancy, is poised to scale rapidly. Making it one of the most significant commercial opportunities and means to mitigate climate change over the coming decades.

Our client is a leading international supplier for Utility-Scale Solar Energy producers. Coming off a recent IPO, they are seeing significant year over year growth and are on a clear path to join the Fortune 500 in the next few years.

This scaling organization has retained Acre to appoint a Chief Engineering and Technology Officer (CTO) who will be responsible for driving innovation, bringing new products to market, and aggressively targeting growth in international markets.

In this role, the CTO will:

  • Be a key partner to the CEO on all things technology, IP, R&D, and new product introduction/commercialization.

  • Work closely with marketing and commercial leaders to define and address market needs.

  • Lead, grow, and enable the Engineering, Technology, and R&D teams for long-term, scalable success.

  • And be a key voice for the board, investors, and industry analysts.

In short, this person will carry the torch both internally and externally for all things technical, be it new product conception, introduction to the market, sustaining engineering, or even targeting IP for acquisition.

This is an opportunity to make your mark on a fledgeling industry that is ready for a massive revolution.

An ideal candidate would have:

  • Formal technical training and engineering experience, ideally in the mechanical, civil or electrical engineering disciplines.

  • 5+ years of experience leading, managing, and inspiring a team with full accountability for the engineering/tech function or substantial product line.

  • 3+ years of experience managing programs, products, and budgets, with successful track record of launching and scaling innovative new products.

  • Exposure to European and/or APAC international customer expansion initiatives.

  • Strong commercial acumen and exposure to representing the engineering/technology function and strategy at a board level, and externally to key investors and analysts.

If you are interested to join an established-but-growing, publicly traded, international firm; grow and lead a diverse team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers; and help change the way the world produces energy, please apply directly here or email Richard Kent at Richard.Kent@acre.com.
