Climate Risk Manager

Acre is partnering with a leading multinational bank to help them build their Climate Risk Team. The bank has identified Climate Risk Management as a core piece of their strategy and is looking to build a team of experts in Climate Risk. They are currently looking to hire Managers for Climate Risk stress testing and modelling, to be based either out of their UK or European offices.

The successful candidate will:

1. Work closely with the Head of Climate Risk to establish an effective framework for the identification, assessment and management of climate related risks and opportunities

2. Act as a domain expert and trusted advisor to the leadership team on all matters pertaining to climate risk stress testing and modelling

3. Own the methodology and iterations, define risk materiality, and articulate this for other teams

4. Continuously review external thought leadership to ensure the team adopts best practices

5. Feed into the development of strategic plans, and support in driving the climate risk agenda across the organization

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

1. Minimum 2+ years of experience in climate risk modelling- physical risk or transition risk

2. Good expertise in stress testing and modelling to determine the impact of climate change on a large and diverse portfolio with multiple products

3. Good understanding of current and emerging climate risk management practices

4. A general understanding of the banking ecosystem and other risk areas will be helpful
