Deputy Director of Responsible Supplier Program

As Chanel accelerates its sustainable business transformation, Acre is supporting with a key Deputy Director of Responsible Supplier Program hire to invigorate and execute Chanel's supplier sustainability strategy, supporting the company to become a leader in this critical aspect of its sustainability ambitions.

Purpose of the role:

This position has been devised to bring in leadership and technical expertise to drive responsible change across Chanel's global supply chains, fostering an empowered and inquisitive supplier engagement team. The Deputy Director will report directly to the Global Director of Responsible Supplier Program with a dotted line to the Global Corporate Sustainability Team.

Working across fashion, fragrance, cosmetics and jewellery divisions, this unique opportunity has incredible breadth and scope for transformative impact on Chanel's responsible supplier practices.

Your impact at Chanel:

• Work closely with key global stakeholders such as the Divisions, Regions, Sustainability Team and Global Head of Internal Audit to drive engagement, identify practical solutions in addressing supplier sustainability topics, and inform Chanel's business and global sourcing strategies with insights from the function.

• Develop strong business partnerships with the functions, divisions, and regions to ensure a highly collaborative working partnership and bring transparency to the environmental, sustainability and governance risks in their supply chains to drive the positive impact required.

• Support with prioritisation of key sustainability risks for Chanel's Tier 1 / 2 suppliers at function, division, and regional levels.

• Assist the Global Director of Responsible Supplier Program with assessing the organisation's responsible supply chain sustainability audit composition and identify the best strategic approach, and partners, for executing Chanel's supplier audit missions.

• Support with establishing a governance process that includes when priority issues are raised and communicating the results of supplier audits and projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.

• Provide leadership to Chanel's supplier audit team and build a strong culture, including mentoring and developing colleagues and managing high-performing teams through inclusive leadership.

What you will bring:

• Significant experience in sustainability, ideally in a sustainable supply chain, responsible sourcing or audit context.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

• The ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, establish credibility with senior corporate audiences, and be skilled in managing complex stakeholder dynamics.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to prioritise, lead and influence strategy whilst leveraging your communication skills to influence and inform the business.

• Strong problem-solving skills and robust judgement from handling complex and sensitive programmes and projects.
