Director of Sustainable Finance - Germany

Acre is working with a leading global bank to help them hire a Director of Sustainable Finance in Germany. Reporting to the Head of Sustainable Finance, you will be driving the sustainable finance business in Europe.

You will be responsible for:

• Driving and growing the sustainable finance business in continental Europe

• Originating transactions across products and sectors, advising on structures and frameworks

• Engaging external stakeholders to position the bank as a leader in sustainable finance

• Managing regulator interactions for matters related to sustainable finance governance

• Advising clients on products, frameworks, industry best practices and emerging regulations

• Partnering closely with the relationship teams to develop client engagement strategies

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Strong understanding of sustainable finance products, frameworks and regulations with experience in origination

• Experience in dealing with regulators, industry bodies and external stakeholders

• Experience working in a matrix team environment with various departments in a bank or financial services firm

• Ability to build relationships at C-suite level and influence decision-makers

• A passion for sustainability with good knowledge of emerging thematic areas and best practices

• German language proficiency will be strongly preferred
